The MySpace situation I wrote about yesterday reminded me of a site that used to be popular called "Am I Hot or Not?" (I just checked and it's still around). People submit their photos and visitors rate them on a scale of 1 to 10. Most people seem to send in their best pictures as if their decision on whether or not to move to the Big Apple to pursue a career in modelling all hinges on the votes of a bunch of Internet dweebs. Last night I went dancing at a club on 80's music night and noticed a hot guy. The attraction soon ended when I spotted him on the dance floor. Now, maybe I could forgive the fact that he danced the same way most 14-year-old boys danced back in the 80's but then I made the horrific discovery he was wearing a turquoise Members Only jacket. “I’m Not Overly Discriminative”

I got into a newsgroup discussion with a guy named Douglas who wrote, "I'm not overly discriminative..." My response to him was, "The fact that you used the word 'overly' makes you overly discriminative in my book." Douglas took offense to my comment and countered with this giant leap for the civil rights movement: I am not going to lie to you that I dont check my locks when a black man walks near my car in the middle of a parking lot.
